Jeanelle Forte McKissack, 86, passed away on Nov. 10, 2022 in Atmore.

She was born on October 31, 1936 in Robinsonville to Grady and Lula Moye Forte. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.R. “Mac” McKissack; her children, Tilda Jerkins and Eddie Jerkins; and her siblings, James Forte, Thelma Gray, Maggie Burch and Douglas Forte.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa J. (Ted) Suttle of Canoe; her grandchildren, Sarah (Tyler) Wilson and Rebecca (Joe) Sicard; along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held on Nov. 14, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Cindy Still officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
