U.S. Army Spc. Ronald Bullard is retiring after 20 years of service in the military.

Bullard is a 1986 graduate of Escambia County High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball for the Blue Devils.

After graduation, Bullard attended Jefferson Davis Community College, went to Faulkner University in Montgomery and Jacksonville State University.

He is the husband of Vanessa Craft Bullard; the son of Lula and Eddie Bullard; and the brother of Phyllis Bullard. Bullard has other family members who are proud of him. I thank God for seeing me through the toughest 20 years of my life, his mom wrote.
