Brewton woman arrested for receiving stolen property, warrants

A Brewton woman was arrested Jan. 24 on warrants and receiving stolen property, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Rebecca Boutwell, 39, of Brewton, was arrested and received a new charge of receiving stolen property I. She had several warrants for her arrest with the APD.

McMann said at approximately 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 24, an APD officer observed a vehicle backed into the tree line along North Main Street near the intersection of Howard Street.

“The officer contacted the female in the driver seat, later identified as Rebecca Boutwell, 39, of Brewton,” McMann said. “Upon further investigation, the officer discovered Boutwell had several warrants for her arrest with the APD.”

McMann said while inspecting the vehicle Boutwell was driving, the officers discovered the vehicle had been reported as stolen.

Boutwell was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton
