Sylvia J. Harrell, 82, of Atmore, passed away on Jan. 16, 2023.

She was born on May 1, 1940 to Otis A. and Jessie “Catherine” Byrd Barnes in Bratt, Fla.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Ray Harrell Sr.; her son, Donald Barnes; and siblings, Sylvester Barnes, Hollis Terry Barnes, Henry E. “Pete” Barnes, Wyvonne Barnes, Barbara Hendrix and Opal Morris.
She is survived by her children, Aubrey Ray Harrell Jr., Jeffrey Rey Harrell, Sharon Kay Murell and Brenda Renee Harrell; her sister, Zelma Emory; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held on Jan. 28, 2023 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Peebles officiating.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
