Atmore man arrested, charged with attempted theft of property

An Atmore man was arrested Feb. 22 on an attempted theft of property charge, according to police officials.

Atmore Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said at approximately 7:52 p.m. on Wednesday, APD officers responded to the 300 block of Howard Street in reference to an attempted theft.

McMann said when officers arrived on the scene, they were advised that a white male, later identified as Bradley Auston Baker, 28, of Atmore, allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle.

“Officers found Baker a short distance away and took him into custody,” he said.

Baker was charged with attempted theft of property I and was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
