An Atmore man was arrested March 28 on drug charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Thornton Sells, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

“When the officers arrived in the area, they observed a vehicle in a parking lot fitting the description of a vehicle that was following the complainant,” McMann said. “The officers contacted the driver, Thornton Sells, 22, of Atmore.

“When officers conducted a search of Sells, they discovered ecstasy pills, xanax bars and adderall pills,” he said.

Sells was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
