3 students possibly injured in school bus crash Monday afternoon

Three students were possibly injured after a school bus crash on Forest Avenue between Owens and West Horner Streets Monday afternoon, according to the Atmore Police Department.
According to the crash report, Escambia County Schools (Ala.) bus driver Lelia Benne, 74, of Atmore, got distracted by children allegedly throwing batteries.
According to the report, Benne slightly ran off the roadway, and hit a culvert belonging to Muskogee Technology.
Three of the 16 students aboard were possibly injured, and taken to Atmore Community Hospital by their parents.
The whole side and the right front side quarter panel of the bus had damage, according to the report.
The APD and the Atmore Fire Department, along with Medstar Ambulance, responded to the scene.
