Hilton W. Peavy, 76, of Poarch, passed away on April 30, 2023 in Pensacola, Fla.

He was born on January 26, 1947 in Brewton to Price and Alice Taylor Peavy. During his career, he served during the Vietnam-Era with the 101^st Airborne Division. He was a retired Army Ranger 1SG and had a career full of accolades and success.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Peavy; his brother, Colas Peavy; and his sister, Dorothy Thompson.

He is survived by his sons, Shannon (Memori) Peavy of McDavid, Fla. and Darby (Kim) Peavy of Nokomis; his daughter, Chastity Peavy of Poarch; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., May 4, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steven Breceda and Bro. Dennis Terry officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Cemetery in Poarch with Military Honors.

Visitation will be held on May 4, 2023 from 1 p.m. until service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore.
