The National Weather Service is monitoring an area of disorganized showers and storms over the central Gulf of Mexico, according to officials.

NWS officials said that environmental conditions appear “marginally” favorable for additional development over the next several days as the system meanders over the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

“This system will likely bring increased moisture and rain chances to our area, especially on Thursday,” NWS of Mobile officials said. “An increased risk of rip currents is expected on Thursday as well.”
