Pensacola, Fla. man arrested on drug charges

A Pensacola, Fla. man was arrested June 7 on drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Clifford Lewis, 57, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana I.

McMann said the arrested stemmed when at approximately 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday, an APD officer performed a traffic stop on Highway 21 in reference to the vehicle displaying a license plate that was registered to a different vehicle. The officer then made contact with Lewis.

“Lewis gave consent to the officer to search his vehicle,” McMann said. “During the search, the officer discovered approximately 9.1 grams of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for marijuana, approximately 13.5 grams of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, .05 grams of a brown grainy substance that field tested positive for heroin, approximately 2.4 grams of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine, a glass pipe used to ingest narcotics with residue and digital scales.”
Lewis was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
