Power restoration in Atmore, Brewton still ongoing; crews to work through the night

UPDATE at 8:53 a.m.: Alabama Power Co. officials said there are 60 customers without power in the Atmore area. Our crews will be working to restore service as quickly as they can, officials said.
Alabama Power Co. officials said today that crews are still working to restore power in Atmore and Brewton after Friday’s storm.
Alabama Power’s Beth Thomas said in an email there are 850 without power in Brewton, and 670 without power in Atmore.
Thomas said crews have been working all day, and have restored service to more than 20,000 in southwest Alabama.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience,” Thomas said. “Crews will be working throughout the night.”
