ECBOE approves personnel recommendations at July 13 meeting

The Escambia County Board of Education approved personnel recommendations during its July 13 meeting at the Central Office in Brewton.

The BOE approved the following personnel recommendations:

Retirement

  • Margie Baggett, as bus driver at Brewton Bus Shop, effective May 26, 2023;

Resignation

  • Kim Yarber, as English/language arts teacher at Escambia County High School, effective June 29;
  • Wesley Tucker, as science teacher at Escambia County Alternative School, effective Aug. 2;
  • Michael Williams, as assistant band director at Escambia County Middle School, effective July 14;
  • Kathleen Allen, as secretary/registrar at Huxford Elementary School, effective July 5;
  • Beverly VanHoosen, as seven-hour lunchroom worker at Pollard McCall Junior High School, effective July 1;
  • Gala Nobles, as elementary teacher at Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective Aug. 2;
  • Terries Lett, as assistant principal at RPES, effective July 10;

In other business, the board:

  • tabled the approval of the fiscal year 2024 salary schedule;
  • tabled the approval of the 2023-24 salary schedule supplement;
  • approved the ECBOE Travel Reimbursement Procedures/Guidelines; and,
  • and tabled the revision of board policy 3.10.1 – Fiscal Management – Employee Compensation. The item will be tabled for 30 days.
