PRIMA Girl attended the Girls Learning About Manufacturing (GLAM) with others from the Mobile County School System and surrounding areas July 25-27 at Bishop State Community College.

The camp was held at the community college’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, and was sponsored by the non-profit GLAM with Executive Director Robin Ricks.

According to PRIMA Girl officials, the camp consisted of a tour of Austal USA, Flight Works Alabama and Airbus U.S. Manufacturing. Presentations were also given by BSCC staff as well as employees from AM/NS Calvert and Novelis, where campers were given hands-on activities and STEM projects to conduct. “This was a great opportunity for young ladies to learn about careers that are particularly male-dominated, that are available to them as well that they may not initially think about pursuing,” PRIMA Girl Executive Director Nicole Jones said.
