An excessive heat warning has been issued for portions of south central and south west Alabama; northwest Florida and southeast Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning will be in effect until 7 tonight, and from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Heat index values are forecasted to go up to 111 degrees.
