Walnut Hill, Fla. man arrested on possession of drug charges

A Walnut Hill, Fla. man was arrested Aug. 8 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Ricky Foster, 53, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 7:25 p.m. on the day of arrest, an APD officer performed a traffic stop in reference to an improper lane change on South Main Street.

“The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, Ricky Foster, age 53 of Walnut Hill, Fla.,” McMann said. “During the encounter with Foster, the officer requested consent to search the vehicle.”

McMann said during the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered approximately 20 grams of a green leafy substance that was identified as synthetic cannabis (spice), several amphetamine and dextroamphetamine pills and a glass pipe with residue in it that field tested positive methamphetamine.

Foster was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
