An excessive heat warning has been issued for the Atmore area today until 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, the warning includes hot conditions with heat index values around 115 degrees. Additionally, a heat advisory has been issued for tomorrow, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. with index values to 110 degrees expected.

The warning is for portions of south central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida and southeast Mississippi.
