An Atmore woman was arrested Aug. 14 on assault charges after allegedly stabbing two others, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Darianna Seltzer, 21, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault II.
McMann said at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, APD officers responded to Houston Avery Park in reference to a disturbance, however.
“When officers arrived at the park, they found there was no disturbance,” McMann said. “The officers left the park and an officer drove up on a disturbance at the intersection of East Sunset and Harris Streets.
“Several vehicles immediately started leaving the area,” McMann added. “The officer conducted a traffic stop on one of the vehicles and discovered one of the occupants had been stabbed and a second victim had also been stabbed.”
McMann said both victims told the officer that Seltzer allegedly stabbed the victim and gave a description of her vehicle. Seltzer was located by officers a short time later and taken into custody, he added.
Seltzer was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
