An excessive heat warning has been issued for the Atmore area, according to the National Weather Service.

For the heat advisory, which is in place, heat index values are for up to 112 degrees.

On Wednesday, there’s a excessive heat warning with conditions with heat index values locally up to 116 degrees.

The warning effects portions of southwest Alabama, northwest Florida and southeast Mississippi.

The heat advisory today lasts until 7 p.m., and the heat warning tomorrow will be from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
