William “Larry” Brown, 89, of Mobile, left his earthly home for his heavenly home on the morning of Fri., Sept. 1, 2023.

Brown was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Bailey, Miss. to William Franklin Brown and Mary Ellen White Brown. Larry lived in Frisco City most of his adult life. He worked for Southern Pine Electric Coop for 40 years. In 2019, Larry moved to Mobile. Up until the week before Larry passed away, he was an active member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Ellen Brown; and one grandson, Jonathan Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Steadham Brown; his sons, Scott (Gracia) Brown of Cumming, Ga. and Jeff (Cheryl) Brown of Navarre, Fla.; his daughters, Felicia (Austin) Bosarge of Petaluma, Calif. and Faith (Roger “Chip”) Roberts of McKinney, Texas; his siblings, Florette White of Meridian, Miss. and Jerry (Judy) Brown of Dothan; and his grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Dawson Brown, Jesse Brown, Jenna Everette, Jadon Bosarge, Murphy Roberts, Jaret Bosarge and Hannah-Riley Roberts. At the time of his death, “Pop” had 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held this Sat., Sept. 9, 2023, at 10 a.m., with funeral services following at 11. Both will be held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore. Bro. Mark McCullough will officiate. After the service, interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Military Honors.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Brown, Dawson Brown, Jadon Bosarge, Jaret Bosarge, Murphy Roberts and Steven Brewer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Coleman, Vic Sawyer, Robert Brooks, Larry Norris, Bush Thames and Johnny Jordan.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
