Mrs. Bettie Strength Boutwell, 73, passed away on Wed., Sept. 20, 2023, in Flomaton surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus A. (Perry Hammac) Strength; husband, Herman Boutwell; one son, Herman Ander Boutwell; one sister, Barbara Ann Strength; and one nephew, Billy Allen Strength.

She is survived by her one daughter, Amy (Mark) Hastings, of Flomaton; two brothers, Rufus Mason (Diane) Strength, of Jay, Fla. and Billy (Liz) Strength, of Flomaton; four sisters, Carol (Gene) Sims, of Pace, Fla., Judy Kinsey, of San Antonio, Texas and Mandy (Jackie) Kelly, of Pollard; three grandchildren, Mark Hastings Jr., Faith Hastings and Leanna Terry; one great-grandchild, Lillian Brown; and other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services were held on Sept. 24, 2023 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with the Rev. Glenn Johnson officiating.

Burial followed at Travelers Rest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stevie Emmons, David Strength, DeWayne Ballard, Johnny McCurdy Jr Vanhoosen and Nathan Emmons.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
