Mrs. Viola Jean Nichols, 79, a lifelong resident of Flomaton, passed away peacefully in Pensacola, Fla. on Sept. 25, 2023.
She was born October 8, 1943, in Flomaton to Lewis and Fannie Hobbs Emmons.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis (Fannie Hobbs) Emmons; and one brother, Cournel, “CJ” Emmons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lee Edward Nichols, of Flomaton; one brother in law, David L. (Janice) Nichols, of Wilmer; five nieces, Linda Milam, of Flomaton, Marty (Melvin) Rolin, of Atmore, Nancy (Ray) Evans, of Flomaton, Kim (Nolan) Lorenzano, of Molino, Fla. and Lisa (Andre) Boykin, of Pensacola, Fla.; and one nephew, Jay (Teresa) Wesley, of Atmore.
Funeral services will be held today, Wed., Sept. 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC with Bro. James Peacock officiating.
Burial will follow at Emmons Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sept. 26, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.
Pallbearers will be Danny Hendrix, Lavon Bradley, Sammy Robinson, Wayne Lisenby, Wayne Smith and Sonny.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC of Atmore is in charge of all arrangements.
