Escambia Academy’s Cross Country team ran in the afternoon race Tuesday at the Shadow Lake Invitational.

The invitational was hosted by Heritage Christian Academy and Bessemer Academy.

EA’s Danny Doerr finished third in the varsity 5K (3.1 mile), Eli Covington finished fifth and Patrick Byrd finished 47^th.

The Cougars will compete in their final meet of the season Oct. 11 at the AISA State Championship Meet in Auburn.
