CORRECTION: In an earlier version of this story, the score of the Escambia County-Orange Beach game was incorrect. The Blue Devils defeated the Makos 28-15, not 28-14. We were happy to set the record straight.

Three Escambia County seniors accounted for one touchdown each to help lead the Blue Devils to a 28-15 senior-night victory over Orange Beach tonight in Atmore.

Sophomore quarterback Jamarion Robinson threw an approximately 40-yard touchdown pass to senior receiver EJ Thomas in the second quarter; and threw a 15-yard scoring pass to senior receiver Lorenzo Arnold Jr. a short time later in the second. And senior running back Markavion Dixon scored a 40-yard second-half touchdown.

“I’m just happy for these seniors,” ECHS head football coach Vincent Harris said. “I’m just proud. I’m just proud for the city of Atmore to go 6-4.”

This is the first time the Blue Devils ended their year with a 6-4 record since 2018.

Harris said not only did the seniors play hard, but everybody played hard.

“It was a good game, we really enjoyed it,” he said. “They played hard given they’re not going to the playoffs. They were resilient. I’m proud of them.”

Harris said his offensive coordinator Maurice Bradley and defensive coordinator Raymond Robinson put together a good game plan for the finale.

ECHS led 22-0 at halftime.

Earlier in the first quarter, both teams traded interception, and after a missed Orange Beach field goal try, Escambia County answered on its next possession with a 85-yard touchdown run from freshman She’Marion Matthews.
