For one day a year, Atmore is called its namesake for its annual Williams Station Day festival.

More than 100 vendors lined Pensacola Avenue for area visitors to peruse throughout the day.

After the opening ceremonies, which included a flag raising by Atmore First Assembly’s Royal Rangers, singing of the “National Anthem” by Whitney Maholovich, welcome by Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Anna Ellis and reading of the Williams Station Day Proclamation by Mayor Jim Staff, the day began.

Additionally, Atmore Community Hospital held its annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk prior to the start of the event.
