Escambia County Middle School won the district Most Improved Average Daily Attendance award for the first 40 days of school. Principal Forrest Jones and the attendance management leadership team have been adamant about communicating the importance of attendance, according to school officials. When a student misses two days a month, they’ll miss 20 days a year. It’s important for our students to be at school so that they can be prepared for a successful and independent life, officials said.
