Northview fell 54-14 to Walton, Fla. tonight in its regular-season finale on the road.

Chiefs head football coach Wes Summerford said the boys played a good team tonight. WHS is undefeated at 10-0 going into the postseason.

“We had some things go our way early, but I think at the end of the day we gave them a little too much,” Summerford said. “That was the story. They’re a really good team. They’re going to do well in their classification (Class 2S).”

When asked if the loss impacts the Chiefs’ playoff chances, Summerford said he doesn’t think so.

“We’re going to find out on Sunday (Nov. 5),” he said. “It’s hard to figure out our system in Florida. We’re going to watch the show and they’re supposed to reveal it at 10 a.m.”

In other area action, T.R. Miller defeated W.S. Neal 36-8 in the 2023 edition of the Battle of Murder Creek, and Flomaton beat Marengo 63-0 on Thursday.
