Ruby Elizabeth Hall Marcotte, 90, of Northampton, Mass., died on Oct. 21, 2023.

She was born in Bratt, Fla. to the late Eugene Hall and Annie Kate Godwin Hall, and was raised in Atmore.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, and later earned a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts.

She was employed as a reading teacher in the South Hadley (Mass.) Public Schools.  She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Alfred D. Marcotte; and her three children, David (Kimberly) Marcotte of Tucson, Ariz., Ann Marcotte of Providence, R.I. and Daniel Marcotte of Long Beach, Calif.

She had four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 30, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Amherst, Mass. and the Douglass Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
