The fruitful and well-lived life of Sister Wilma L. Gladden Thomas began on Jan. 17, 1936.

Wilma was born to the late Sarah Thomas and Robert Gladden in Rock Hill, S.C.

On Mon., Nov. 6, 2023, God, the author and finisher of our faith and life, saw that Wilma was getting tired and called her home to live with Him throughout eternity.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband, Bernard; son, Bernard Jr., of Elmira, N.Y.; a step-daughter, Dorothy Sam, of Atmore; sisters in law, Betties (Edward) Adams, Barbara (Willie) Dukes, of Atmore, Emsworth Thomas, of East Orange N.J., Ethel Thomas Johnson and Mary Boyd, of Buffalo, N.Y.; one grandson, Christopher T. Sams; three great-grandchildren, Amani, Amaya and Christopher Jr., all of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a host of nieces, Yolanda Williams; nephews, cousins, JoaAnn Oats of Buffalo; friends; and a loving neighbor and caretaker, Schemenia Reynolds.

A funeral was held on Sat., Nov. 11, 2023.

Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
