Atmore man arrested on theft charges

An Atmore man was arrested Dec. 11 on theft charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Christopher Rowland, 39, was arrested on a warrant for theft of property I.
McMann said on Dec. 8, an APD investigator interviewed a Southern Tire Mart Corporate Security Investigator in reference to a former employee, Rowland, in reference to missing deposits that were discovered during an audit of the business’s accounts.
“The missing deposits were in excess of $15,000,” McMann said.
McMann said an arrest warrant was then obtained for Rowland after examination of the records.
Rowland was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
