Mrs. Voncile Mayo Ray, 89, of Atmore, passed away peacefully on Jan. 4, 2024 in Pensacola, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Young (Almeadie Hooks) Mayo; husband, Willis Matthew Ray; brother, John Henry Mayo; and sister, Evelyn Mayo Peacock.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (James) Helms of Canoe and Beverly (Don) Ellis of Atmore; six grandchildren, Jenifer Dykes, Bradley Dykes, Kavin Dykes, Matt (Gayle) Helms, Joey Helms and Tammy Lollar; nine great-grandchildren, Ana Helms, Sebastian Helms, Tristan Dykes, Jayen Dykes, Mikie Helms, Jimmy Dorriety, MaKayla Barlow, Kailey Dykes and Kianna Dykes; and four great-great-grandchildren, Lileigh Dorriety, Brantlee Dorriety, Jaxen Barlow and Lakelynn Barlow.
A funeral service will be held on Tues., Jan. 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.
Visitation will be held on Jan. 9, 2024 from 1 p.m. until service time at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.
Pallbearers will be, Sebastian Helms, Joey Helms, Matt Helms, Willard Hill, Bradley Dykes and Tristan Dykes.
Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Mayo
Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery.
