Blue Devils basketball coach Layton Knight said the team played great on defense, and they were basically in control of the game for the most part against the Tigers.

Knight said they know it’s going to be a battle against JHS.

“These are two athletic teams,” he said. “Jackson’s very, very athletic. If we can weather the storm, do the smart things like box out and be solid defensively, and limit turnovers, we should come out with the victory.”

When asked how one goes up against an athletic team such as JHS, Knight said the key is to control the tempo of the game.

“(JHS) Coach (Anthony) Hayes is one of my good, close friends,” Knight said. “It’ll always be a battle.”

The Aggies enter the area title game on a 13-game win streak.
