MONTGOMERY – Escambia Academy’s Lady Cougars fell 63-22 to Lowndes Academy today in the AISA Class 1A Final 4 at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl.

The defending state champions took a 29-8 lead at the half, and went on an early 8-0 run in the third period. LA led 48-15 going into the fourth period.

“Looking at their film, they showed us a lot,” Webster said. “With us being you, all I can say is that we’re going to work hard and get back here next year.”

Krislynn Lee led the Lady Cougars with 10 points. Zy McNeal contributed with seven points.

  1. Briggs and C. Hess led Lowndes with 14 points each.

Webster said the team will learn from this experience.

“If they sit back and watch the score and their time out, we’ll be back on this floor, no doubt,” he said. “With that experience, we’ll be back.”
