APD part-time dispatcher arrested on custodial sexual misconduct charge

A part-time Atmore Police Department dispatcher was arrested on a custodial sexual misconduct charge Feb. 8, according to officials.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Lucas Gaiters, was fired from his position today after APD administration staff discovered he had allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances toward a female inmate incarcerated at the city of Atmore Municipal Jail.
McMann said Gaiters was placed under arrest and then was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
McMann said the Atmore Police Department is committed to a zero tolerance policy in reference to the safety and wellbeing of citizens incarcerated in the Atmore Municipal Jail.
