A San Antonio, Texas man died in a single-vehicle crash today on Interstate 65 near the 49-mile marker, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said in a release that Marvin Haynes, 54, was fatally injured when the 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a tree.

“Haynes was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Burkett said.

Burkett said the crash occurred approximately 5 miles south of the Atmore city limits in Escambia County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
