Atmore man arrested for stalking, violation of domestic violence order, criminal mischief

An Atmore man was arrested recently on stalking, violation of a domestic violence protection order and criminal mischief III charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said Sam Payne Jr. 32, of Atmore, was identified by investigators as one individual involved in allegedly damaging vehicles on three separate occasions Sept. 28, 2023 through Nov. 3, 2023.

“Investigators were able to locate witnesses and view home surveillance camera footage,” McMann said. “Warrants of arrest were obtained for Payne for three counts of aggravated stalking II, three counts of violation of a domestic violence protection order and three counts of criminal mischief III.”

McMann said Payne was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
