JaQuan Martin is settling into his hobby of detailing cars.

The Atmore native now has a mobile detailing business called Sunset Mobile Auto Detailing.

Martin began detailing cars as a hobby since he was a kid.

“It all started with keeping family members’ cars clean for extra cash for school,” Martin said. “Years later, after school, while working at a paper mill in Baldwin County, I would often hear older guys tell me, ‘find something you enjoy doing, and you’ll never work a day in your life.’

“So, during the pandemic, I decided to start offering my services to people outside of my family,” he said. “With time and hard work, it became quite a lucrative business.”

Martin said after two years of detailing cars part time while working at the paper mill, he decided to switch it to mobile detailing instead.

“I believed that being able to go to my clients’ homes and jobs would definitely increase my clientele, and I was right,” he said. “Now, I offer a variety of services, from a basic foam wash to fleet management for all business owners.”
