Atmore man dies in single-vehicle crash Saturday night

An Atmore man died in a single-vehicle crash March30 on Highway 21, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney said in a release that the crash occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

“Delloyd Johnson Jr., 60, was fatally injured when the 1998 Ford Ranger he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch,” McKinney said.

Johnson said McKinney wasn’t using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

McKinney said the crash occurred at Alabama 21 near the 4-mile marker, approximately 1 mile north of Atmore.

Nothing further is available as troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
