EA JV boys track, field team wins AISA Class 1A-2A state title

Escambia Academy’s boys junior varsity track and field team scored 111 points to win the AISA Class 1A-2A state championship on April 6 in Canoe.
The Cougars scored 24 points in sprints; six points in hurdles; 48 points in distance; five points in throws; 20 points in jumps; and eight points in relays.
Evangel Christian finished second with 81 points; Wilcox Academy finished third with 77; Restoration finished fourth with 46; and The Lakeside School and Abbeville Christian finished tied for fifth with 45 points each.
Results by gender and category included:
Boys
- 3200 meter run – First place, Danny Doerr, 10 minutes, 58.41 seconds (state record broken previously held by Alan Ash of Escambia Academy); second place, Kason Bryant 12:54.98; and fourth place, Jameson Agerton, 13:10.02
- 100 meter dash – First place, Yadarius McNeal, 11.97 seconds; Eighth place, Cameron Perkins, 13.20 seconds; and 22nd, Jackson Parker, 18.33 seconds
- 200 meter dash – Sixth place, Kaidyn Windham, 27.24 seconds; and 10th place, Cameron Perkins, 28.05 seconds
- 400 meter dash – Third place, Kaidyn Windham, 1:01.69; and Fifth place, Cameron Perkins, 1:07.32
- 800 meter run – Second place, Danny Doerr, 2:23.68; and ninth place, Kason Bryant, 2:57.78
- 1600 meter run – Second place, Danny Doerr, 5:12.32; fourth place, Kason Bryant 6:06.87; and fifth place, Jameson Agerton, 6:09.60
- 110 meter hurdles – First place, Yadarius McNeal, 19.71 seconds
- 4×100 meter relay – Second place, 52.66 seconds – Jameson Agerton, Kadiyn Windham, Cameron Perkins and Ydarius McNeal
- Long jump – Second place, Yadarius McNeal, 18-feet-1-inches
- Triple Jump – Second place, Cameron Perkins, 33-feet-7-inches; and fifth place, Danny Doerr, 31-feet-1-inches
- Discus – Fourth place, Brayden Faircloth, 80-feet-9-inches; 12th place, Tyson Millikan, 71-feet-1-inches; 15th place, Jackson Parker, 57-feet-8-inches
