McMann said the officer then made contact with Parris and Oviedo.

“While speaking with Parris and Oviedo, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” he said. “Parris and Oviedo were removed from the vehicle in order for the officers to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle due to the odor of marijuana. The officers discovered approximately 6 grams of marijuana, a digital scale with a crystal-like residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and other items that are used for ingestion of narcotics.”
McMann said Parris and Oviedo were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
