Two Atmore men were arrested April 10 on drug charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Daniel Crenshaw, 38, and Dalton Harrison, 28, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 11:30 a.m., an APD officer observed a vehicle on Highway 21 in front of Escambia County Middle School allegedly exceeding the speed limit in a school zone.

The officer then made contact with Crenshaw and Harrison, McMann said.

“The officer checked Crenshaw’s driver license status and discovered that Crenshaw had an active warrant through the Philadelphia, Pa. Police Department,” McMann said. “Philadelphia declined to extradite Crenshaw. Crenshaw gave consent to the officers to search the vehicle.”

McMann said during the search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a glass pipe on the passenger side of the vehicle with a crystal-like residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

McMann said both were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
