An Atmore woman was arrested April 17 on drug charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Yancy Biron, 49, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McMann said the arrested stemmed after an APD officer responded to the Fast Lane in reference to an unresponsive female in the driver seat of a running vehicle.
McMann said Biron, who was identified as the female, was awakened and examined by paramedics who determined she was not in medical distress, but appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.
“During a search of the vehicle after obtaining consent from Biron, the officer discovered a clonazepam pill and drug paraphernalia,” McMann said.
Biron was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
