APD search warrant yields drugs, firearm; two Atmore men arrested

Two Atmore men were arrested May 3 on drug and firearm charges after the execution of a search warrant at a residence within the city limits, according to officials.

According to the Atmore Police Department’s Facebook page, Eric J. Williams, 25, was arrested for drug trafficking of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; and Derrick A. Williams, 29, was arrested for drug trafficking of synthetic cannabinoid, person forbidden to possess a firearm and four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance of MDMA (ecstasy), crack cocaine, opiate narcotic and amphetamines.

According to the APD, the search warrant yielded the seizer of the following items and narcotics:

  • A weapon/handgun
  • Ecstasy (MDMA)
  • Opiate narcotics
  • Amphetamine(s)
  • Crack cocaine
  • 65 grams of synthetic cannabinoid (spice)
  • $5,546 United States Dollars
  • 6.42 pounds (2,815 grams) of marijuana

Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton where they await bond.
