Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the main threats overnight as numerous thunderstorms will develop and move across the area, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, some storms will become severe with the main threat between midnight and 6 a.m. The severe threat could linger past 6 a.m. along the I-10 corridor.

According to the NWS, pockets of significant wind damage with wind gusts of over 70 miles per hour could be possible.

NWS officials encouraged area residents to make sure to have a way to receive warnings while they’re sleeping.
