Mental Health Awareness Walk, Resource Fair postponed to May 25 due to threat of inclement weather

The fourth annual Mental Health Awareness Walk and Resource Fair has been postponed to Sat., May 25, due to the threat of inclement weather.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are forecasted before 1 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms likely afterward. There is a 90 percent coverage chance of precipitation, and new rainfall amounts total between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

The walk will begin at Heritage Park at 10 a.m. and ends at Boxcar Willie, where a resource fair will be held.

The goal of the event is to raise awareness on mental health, to decrease the stigma that surrounds the topic and to link individuals to resources available to Escambia County, Ala. and surrounding areas, officials said.
