An Atmore woman was arrested May 3 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Kayla Woods, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McMann said on the day of the arrest at approximately 11:35 a.m., APD officers responded to the 100 block of Peachtree Street in reference to a disturbance involving a theft.
McMann said officers then contacted Woods in the 100 block of Avenue A.
“Upon contacting Woods, the officers discovered that she had four active misdemeanor warrants with the Atmore Police Department,” he said. “Upon further investigation, Woods was in possession of methamphetamine and four glass pipes with methamphetamine residue.”
Woods was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
