A former Escambia County High School principal was arrested May 16 on menacing and domestic violence charges, according to the Mobile Police Department.
MPD officials confirmed Tuesday morning that Kike Pettaway was arrested for domestic violence III and menacing.
According to the MPD, Pettaway allegedly pulled a gun on a known person at a hotel on May 11 in Mobile. She was arrested on the two charges May 16.
At present, Pettaway is serving as the Escambia County School System’s mental health coordinator.
Superintendent Dr. Michele Collier said the system doesn’t comment on personnel matters, and Pettaway was place don leave on Monday as this matter is being investigated.
Collier added that the board is expected to accept her resignation during its meeting on Thursday.
