McMann said the officer made contact with Barker.

“During the interaction with Barker, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” he said. “The officer was also notified by the dispatcher the vehicle was reported stolen through the Mobile Police Department.”

McMann said Barker was then detained, and officers searched the vehicle while an investigator contacted the MPD to gather more information concerning the theft.

“During the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered a glass pipe with a white residue that field tested positive for cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana and multiple items used to ingest narcotics,” McMann said. “The investigator learned from Mobile investigators the vehicle was actually traded by the owner to Barker in an exchange for sexual favors and narcotics for use of the vehicle.”

McMann said Barker was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
