Atmore fire fighters train Wednesday using new ladder trucks.

The city of Atmore recently purchased 95-foot ladder fire trucks and Atmore firefighters were out training to get certification for the trucks on Wednesday.

Atmore Fire Chief Gerry McGhee is working in conjunction with his son, Poarch Creek Fire Department training officer Chris McGhee, to get his firefighters the needed 40 hours of instruction to reach certification.
The teams worked at Atmore First Assembly of God, Atmore First Baptist Church, and the Atmore YMCA. McGhee said they plan to do water demonstrations at local high schools soon.
