A Walnut Hill man was taken into custody and charged with numerous drug crimes after Escambia County (Fla.) narcotics agents searched his home on Florida Highway 97 and found an array of illegal substances, according to arrest reports.

The agents arrested 49-year-old Curtis Tucker, also known as “short dog,” at his home at 7050 Florida Highway 97 Thursday after serving a search warrant.

According to the arrest report, deputies uncovered drugs in the home, including cocaine, marijuana and hallucinogens, all of which they suspect Tucker of selling. Tucker, along with two other individuals, was detained by agents at the residence while the premises was searched, according to reports.

Uncovered in the home were: a quantity of vacuum-sealed bags; plastic baggies with marijuana residue; two digital scales with marijuana residue; a measuring device with cocaine residue; a quantity of crack cocaine; 89 Xanax pills of different brands and milligrams; several bottles of prescription medication prescribed to Tucker; one Roxicodone; a quantity of marijuana greater than 20 grams; a baggie containing methylenedioxypyrovalerone, commonly referred to as bath salts; and a .22-caliber rifle. Agents also reported discovering 17 separate bags containing a “white, powdery substance” located in an outdoor shed. The substance was turned over to a lab for identification, according to the report.

Tucker was detained and transported to the Pensacola Jail, where he was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine with intent to sell in the second degree; one felony count of intent to sell hallucinogens in the third degree; one felony count of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell in the third degree; one felony count of possession of drugs with the intent to sell in the third degree.

According to the arrest report, Tucker was charged with intent to distribute on three counts due to the investigator’s knowledge that, “the presence of scales, the large quantity and packaging of the narcotics found, is consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics.”

Tucker may also face additional charges once lab results are conclusive.

He was later released from the Pensacola Jail on $25,000 bond.
