The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Escambia County. The watch will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, a flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. The watch covers nine Alabama counties, including Baldwin and Covington, as well as three Florida counties and five Mississippi counties.

The NWS is reporting that many locations in the watch area received 2 to 4 inches of rain Friday, and there is still the potential for additional rain late tonight and into early Saturday morning.
